James K. P. Blackburn
Born Maury County, 20 February 1837. Taught in Texas. Enlisted September 1861 in the 8th Texas Cavalry — Terry’s Texas Rangers. Recovered in this neighborhood, met the Lairds, returned after the last Carolina fighting, married Mackie on the porch, later sat in the Tennessee legislature. Reminiscences of the Terry Rangers, Southwestern Historical Quarterly, 1918. Died 6 July 1923.
